On Sunday, May 4 2025, we gathered and embarked on a botanical journey through the coastal habitats of Guincho, one of the most exposed and ecologically rich coastal zones along Europes west coast.
Here, life clings to the edge. We explored how plant communities have adapted to thrive in salt-laden winds, intense sun, bare rock, and cycles of fire, being reborn periodically from the ashes. From resilient cushion-forming aromatic shrubs to bursts of color from endemic irises, this walk revealed the tenacity and brilliance of coastal flora.
